Needles and Pins

Edgewater is starting up a "Stitch n Bi#!*"

Hey Edgewater, we're starting up a Stitch 'n Bitch in town and you're invited!

A Stitch 'n Bitch is a group of folks who come together to enjoy one-another's company, while wielding sharp, pointy objects. In the process, projects are created and friendships are formed. http://stitchnbitch.org/

When: Tuesday evenings, starting at 6:30.

Where: Edgewater Coffee Company, 5224 W. 25th Ave.
Edgewater Coffee Company, aka Gina's Coffee Shop

Who: Anyone who likes to knit, crochet, sew, etc.; all skill levels are welcome!

Bring: Whatever you'd like!  Partially completed projects, patterns, ideas, an interest in learning a new craft, etc.; kids can come, too -- Gina has toys!

Great ideas (and warm scarves) can take shape in coffee shops -- Here's what I mean:

Last week at Gina's coffee shop I saw Natasha, an Edgewater mom who I know just a little bit; she was knitting up a fairly elaborate, lacy, curly scarf. Anyhow, we got to chatting and decided that we'd love to take a stab (ha!) at forming a Stitch 'n Bitch right there at Gina's. So we met on Tuesday night and Natasha knit, while I just worked on unkotting some yarn (did I mention that I'm a beginner?)

So let's see how this goes. Knitters, crocheters and quilters can do amazing things when they get together and start chatting.

Edgewater, Thanks for Voting for a Safer Community!

Posted on 10:10 by trisha kapoor
Edgewater Votes for Inclusion with the Wheat Ridge Fire Protection District

And it passes by a fairly wide margin, I might add. Yesterday, Edgewater citizens spoke up loud and clear in favor of the 2A (66.13% in favor; 33.87% opposed) Charter amendment for inclusion as well as the 5A mill levy increase  (64.7% for inclusion; 35.83% against). More information on the election results can be found on the Jefferson County Elections Website: http://results.enr.clarityelections.com/CO/Jefferson/43033/110766/en/slideshow.html.

Hooray! This makes sense. I'm so pleased that we're no longer kicking this can down the road any longer. Thank goodness we're making our community safer and we're thinking of fiscally sound approaches to meeting our City's needs.

Now on to more sexy infrastructure needs...Like sewer lines and paving, perhaps?
